Rose Cottage is an old stone cottage set amid farmland....

....It is 400 feet above sea level in the tiny hamlet of High Humbleton on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, with the Cheviots rising behind it, and superb views in front, across the Glendale Valley.

There is a large, safe garden and off road parking. The sitting room has an open fire with comfortable chairs and a sofa, the larger of the two bedrooms has a queen sized double bed and the small bedroom, which is very small, has a single bed with a pull out bed which makes it possible to have two single beds and there are two Z beds if needed.

There is a telephone available for the use of visitors. The sun room has a dining table with wonderful views over the open countryside.

The cottage has been our second home for nearly 40 years and is furnished with personal books and pictures which many visitors find gives it a welcoming feeling. It is only available between April 1st and October 31st as the family uses it in the winter.

The kitchen and bathroom are modern additions with excellent facilities, dishwasher, clothes washer, microwave and electric oven. The bathroom has an over bath shower.

There is good heating throughout. The beds are provided with duvets and linen is provided free if required. The sitting room has a TV and DVD player and there are lots of board games and packs of cards.

The cottage is 12 miles from the wonderful sandy beaches of Northumberland with many castles within easy reach. Day trips to Edinburgh, Newcastle and the Roman Wall are all within 60 miles. There are number of interesting gardens to visit, as well as country houses. Golf, fishing and bird watching are all within easy reach.
